Nominate Utah Entrepreneurs to the Founder 100

Lehi, Utah, May 7, 2024

Jon Bradshaw and Peter Harris, co-founders of Venture Capital Podcast, invite anyone that is interested in Utah's entrepreneur community to nominate entrepreneurs to the Founder 100, a community-nominated, peer-selected recognition program and celebratory event of Utah's top 100 founders.

The Founder 100 recognizes and celebrates the vision, hard work, and achievements of Utah’s top entrepreneurs. It will foster terrific networking opportunities with Utah's entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and partner organizations. As a community effort, it underscores the broad, community-minded and collaborative nature of Utah's rich entrepreneurship culture that is constantly acknowledged by many organizations. It serves as a means for like-minded peers—Utah's entrepreneurs, and an interconnected ecosystem that supports them—to  collectively contribute to the common goal of building Utah's healthy entrepreneurship ecosystem while simultaneously growing their own startups.

The Founder 100 builds on the legacy of Paul Ahlstrom, Co-Founder of IsoTalent, Co-Founder of TechBuzz, Founder and CEO of Alta Global, a founder and investor in over 100 companies in Utah since the 1980s. The Founder 100 is an initiative built upon the foundation of the v100 and WIN100, highlighting Utah's leading entrepreneurs and setting a benchmark for excellence.

"Utah's entrepreneur culture stands as a beacon of innovation and resilience, fueling the state's growth and prosperity," said Derek Miller, President and CEO of Salt Lake Chamber. "The Founder 100 not only celebrates our vibrant startup ecosystem but also offers a platform to honor the trailblazers whose vision has shaped industries and communities. Join me in recognizing the indomitable spirit of Utah's founders by engaging in the Founder 100 nomination process. Let's champion the entrepreneurial ethos that defines our great state."

Who may nominate entrepreneurs for the Founder 100?

Anyone interested in Utah's vibrant technology culture is permitted to nominate—startup founders, tech execs, investors, students, professors, policy-makers—anyone who knows about a remarkable founder, well-known or obscure, that is doing innovative things, building value and is at the forefront of innovation and growth in Utah's powerful startup community.

Visit the Founder 100 nomination page to nominate up to ten individuals that you believe are the top entrepreneurs in the state.

It is a two-part process:

After the current public nomination phase, the second part of the process is private voting by those nominated in the public nomination phase.

Then each nominee will receive a link to a page where they can vote for the person that they believe is a top entrepreneur in Utah. Thereafter, an independent panel of judges will review the voting data and select the top 100 winners.

The top 100 entrepreneurs, as nominated by the crowd and voted on by the nominees, will be celebrated at a gala event in June, 2024, attended by dozens of Utah investment firms (see list of VC Partners below). TechBuzz will share details of the June event in the coming weeks.

"Utah's healthy entrepreneur culture is one of the best things about this state," said Clint Betts, CEO and Co-Founder of Silicon Slopes, and one of the media sponsors of the Founder 100 initiative. "The Founder 100 celebrates that culture and provides a moment to recognize the contributions of Utah's founders. Join me in celebrating Utah's entrepreneurs by taking part in the Founder 100 nomination process."
