Galvan Updates its Galvan+ Wellness App

Galvan has announced recent upgrades to its wellness app, Galvan+, allowing users to input and safely store their own personal health data. This self-recorded and self-owned health data can include personal health data such as immunizations, surgeries, medical conditions, medications and allergies.

Dr. Adam Sharp, CEO of Galvan, said of the update, “this is a step towards our goal of individuals taking ownership of their personal health and wellbeing. Nowhere is sovereignty more important than related to our own health. Adding personal health information to a blockchain, owned and operated by the Galvan community of node owners is a giant step toward democratizing health and wellness. Adding AI and rewarding healthy behaviors is the wave of the future that we expect will positively change the world’s health systems.”

Patient records are typically stored by a health professional, insurance or government, but moving, traveling or changing jobs may eliminate or decrease access to documentation of past injuries, illnesses, allergies or current medications vital for your health. The new Galvan+ personal health data (pHd) feature, designed with feedback and input from the community, will be solely owned by the user and only visible to the user and who they decide to share it with. “Decentralization. Self-governing your data. This is the future of health and wellness,” added Sharp.

Sharp said the Galvan+ app provides a first-of-its-kind Wellness Check utilizing AI and ML (machine learning) technologies. From a vocal sample with a phone, it evaluates 2,550 vocal biomarkers every tenth of a second to quantify, detect and evaluate a person’s stress, mood and energy levels.

The app can be synced with fitness wearables including the Apple Watch to track vitals such as heart minutes, steps and sleep. It also allows users to earn digital rewards from the blockchain as incentive for healthy behaviors.

The Galvan+ App is currently available for download in both the App Store and the Google Play Store.

The Galvan Blockchain was launched by Galvan, which is a wellness company, based in Lehi, Utah. The Galvan Blockchain is managed by a distributed governance framework which consists of Galvan node owners. The project was  covered by TechBuzz in May 2022 and at the time involved over 150 engineers, marketers, blockchain specialists, and Web3 enthusiasts, working together, sharing resources, to build blockchain-based startups.

Galvan was co-founded by Sharp and a group of successful blockchain entrepreneurs with the desire to apply blockchain technology to sectors beyond the financial sector such as power, healthcare, banking and other industries.

Galvan issues the following disclaimer:

Galvan Nodes and the Galvan Blockchain are governed by a Distributed Governance Framework, which is distinct from and not solely controlled by Galvan DAO LLC. Any value derived from Galvan Nodes and IZE Digital Rewards is likely to be uncorrelated with the success or failure of Galvan. Galvan does not sell tokens or digital rewards.

The Galvan Blockchain, which is governed by Galvan Node Owners, self-governs the distribution of digital rewards. Digital rewards are earned in exchange for work and action on the Galvan Blockchain. The digital reward is designed to have utility on the Galvan platform for the purchase of Galvan’s products and services. The digital reward is not an investment product and may never have any value outside of the Galvan platform. Galvan Node Owners should not expect to recognize any value from the digital reward other than its utility with Galvan. Galvan does not anticipate correlation between the digital reward value and Galvan’s business activities.
